The DC-2 receives video in the 420 to 440 Mhz band and converts it to TV channels 2, 3, or 4. The DC-2U converts the upper sideband, which is normally used in TV.
The DC-2L converts the lower sideband, from an ATV station transmitting both sidebands. This means that the FM repeater stations that operate above 440 MHz will not bother your reception of ATV. The main use of the DC-2L is in simplex operation, as most repeaters transmit only the upper sideband. Both versions can be supplied with a phase locked crystal oscillator for exact frequency reception.
