Acknowledgments

Below is a list of various software I used during the development of the digital communication method described above. The program name is on the left in the figure below, and a brief description of what is was used for is on the right.

HF testers

Below is a list of people actively involved in the HF testing of this HDSSTV digital communication method.

I appreciate all of the effort they put into the testing.

Figuring out why the demodulator-decoder program was not doing as good a job as I thought it should on some the recordings made during the testing has resulted in a much better demodulator-decoder program than what I started out with.

There is data from other modes recorded during the testing that is yet to be analyzed. For example, following each of the "pm7b" mode transmissions from Australia, there is a "Wyman 12" mode transmission, which is yet to be analyzed. These Wyman 12 transmissions represent the same image files as the "pm7b" transmissions, but with only 20% redundancy in the outer code, rather than the 40% redundancy in the outer code of the "pm7b" transmissions.

The book listed in the image below is the one from which I learned about Reed-Solomon coding. Page 260 of this book contains a flow chart of the Berlekamp-Massey Algorithm, revised to handle erasures, which I implemented as the procedure named "decode1" in my program.

The last URL in the image below is for downloading the initial distribution of the source code for this digital communication method.
