These really aren't "secrets", but most of these points are undocumented anywhere else. This is a compilation of things phlebotomists "just know." Call it "Phlebotomist's Instinct." Universal Precautions Stick below the torniquet Stopper end first
Never throw needles Don't recap Cleanse with alcohol prior
Don't juggle tubes Never sharpen needles Purple limb = Too tight
No "dart-throwing" Antecubital, not jugular Dress site after sticking
Never stick blindfolded No wagering please Refrain from cheering
