How To Configure Mail Clients For the New SVS.NET GMail System

(317) 642-0400

Many of our valued customers use a mail client like Outlook Express. To use a mail client with our new mail system you will need to perform a few tasks in order for it to work. Please follow the instructions below to get your client of choice setup properly.

You may first need to activate your new Google App webmail account.
To do that log into Gmail at Gmail.svs.net or click on the GMail picture on our home page at www.svs.net .
Fill out the account verification page.
Remember that your webmail login uses just your username (we automagically add the @svs.net)
Also, your password in Gmail is 8 characters long.
(If you did not have a 8 character password we simply added 1's to it until it was 8 characters long.)

You will notice once logged in that your old webmail has already
been pulled off the old server and placed in your Gmail account.

Most people use the Outlook Express program, but if yours is different we have added links to those below.

Unless you have to manually setup the changes,
just download the Configuration tool below to your desktop for your mail program.

Once (Oesetup.exe) is downloaded, close out your mail program.
(It can not make changes if the program is running)

Click on the tool you just downloaded.(oesetup.exe)
Put in your Name you would like people to see when recieving mail from you.
Put in your full email address where it asks for username. (ie. me@svs.net)
Put in the new 8 character password in the password line, and in the confirm password line.
Click "OK".
This will take only a couple of seconds and should have changed your settings on your existing email account. If you have multiple accounts you can set them up one at a time or use the add/edit button at the bottom of the app to set them all up on the same computer at the same time.

Note: You can not use this page to create a new email address or change your password.

If you have forgotten your password, want to change the new one, need help logging in to Gmail, or need additional help with changes feel free to call me ( Craig ) at (317) 642-0400.

Or email me at admin@svs.net.

For a list of Frequently asked questions and other information we have provided some information at http://www.svs.net/google/index.html

The configuration tool will NOT remove any existing mail, change folders, or delete any address books. Exactly the same mail is going to both the old account and the new one..so you don't need the old one. Additionally, a copy of all your old mail on the server was pulled off the old one yesterday and placed in your new gmail account, at that time all mail started routing to Gmail first, then fowarded to the old one, so any new mail since yesterday is already in your new server account. The old server account will be turned off in a couple of weeks so it is no longer needed.

There is no Challenge-response with Gmail, it is not really needed. Gmail has a very accurate anti-spam system.
All Spam will go to your spam folder in your gmail.svs.net account.(new webmail).
